Today would've been my Dad's 75th Birthday. It doesn't seem possible that he has been gone for 10 years. He always loved this time of year....probably because of his birthday and Christmas. I just pray that I get a fraction of his compassionate nature and unlimited patience. On a lighter note, I made Almond Roca and white chocolate mints last night. I have to make fudge tonight. I'm going easy on the candy making due to lack of funds. Candy making is expensive!! Jord had a relapse of the flu and is pretty miserable. I'm hoping he feels better by Christmas-he has put in a couple long nights. I got a surprise this morning when I came to work.....the Mayor gave me an extra paid holiday for Christmas!!! I only have to work two days this week....Whoo Hoo!

so far we have not started a big candy making tradition, just everything else...

Jord probably needs more fresh air.....hehehehehe....I used to like to make candy but now I dont....sad....well I just don't like to eat it very much....hurts what teeth I have left....most of it does...well you know what I'm talking about....well do you...maybe not.....well anyway...tell Jord he needs to leave the house more often and the flu wont be able to catch him.....ya know maybe he had the bird flu.....due to all the birds he has around......now that would be weird.
this is the first year we've actually made candy for christmas....hmmm...strange...
