Mya

Janice sent this to me today.....so glad she is good about sending pic's of the kids.

Two more Home games!!!

I am so excited....there are only 2 more home games. Definately ready for Manthy-Lou to take over concessions next year. I am begging any live human being to cover the next two games. Tag has been my #1 helper....he takes care of JV games for me and then I have to find helpers for the Varsity, which is difficult. Zane said he would help me tonight, so relieved. I must've looked really tired at Fridays game, because Mr. Hull kept coming to the concession and telling me what quarter the boys were in....."only 6 1/2 minutes left Kerri, then you can go home". Funny! It is so pretty here today. The sun is shinning so bright it hurts your eyes. Doesn't look to promising for Baseball this year. Only 5 boys signed up so far....Creston is not a happy camper. I told him that he needed to recruit some boys. What happened to all of them? Last year they had enough for two teams. Apparently, some of the boys are not happy with the coach and decided not to play. Interesting. Well, its burgers for dinner tonight at the Pateros Pride grill zone.....leaving work at 2:30 to set up....first game is at 3:30. Fun times ahead.

Ugh....It's Monday......

Great weekend....lots of visiting and cooking and cleaning. Saturday, Jord says....Lets go cook potato soup and biscuits for Ma/Pa for lunch....I declined that idea, but said I would make Lasagne for them for dinner. Jord jumped all over that! He told me to call Audrey and invite them....then Brandi to invite them. So, we invaded Mom/Dad and had a Wilson sibling Lasagne dinner. It was fun and I think we should do it more often. Sunday, church was great once again. Had Marty/Kim/Lance over for roast, mashed taters, gravy, rolls, salad and corn. Kim brought over an Apple Crisp. Scrumptous! Basically, that was the weekend and a good one at that!

Friday....Yeah!!!!!

It's been a long week for me. I've been by myself at city hall and I have been buried. We only have boys varsity tonight and nothing the rest of the weekend and I am thrilled! PJ's here I come! Jord has been getting his seed order ready and I am anxiously waiting for spring. Pulled out old pictures last night looking for a baby picture that Creston and I could agree on for graduation. I forgot how much he looked like Gideon when he was 2. I seen really old pictures of one of my Hawaii trips with Gma Channel. Oh, to be on the beach in Hawaii.....there is nothing like it. Someday I plan to go back and take Jord with me. But although its #1 on my list......its about #8 on Jord's.....so I will be waiting a while longer. One can only dream!

Tired of being tired......

Haven't been sleeping well for over a week now. Both of my arms fall asleep and I wake up in pain and unable to move them freely. So, most of the mornings you will find me in my recliner trying to get comfortable. Whine....I shouldn't complain....things could be alot worse. But with tiredness comes crankiness and I am definately cranky. Got informed on the way home last night that their was a girls game scheduled for tonight at 4:00! Not a big deal except that with Pateros Pride, I am in charge of concessions. Good thing I went on to Wenatchee last night before the game to stock up supplies. I picked up a few get well goodies for Nevelyn and then we headed to watch the girls beat up on Entiat. Jord said he wouldn't want to play against Rhi and Kat....they are so physical (good) on defense. Its a blast to watch the other team get frustrated! Popped in to check on the Wilson sickies for a few minutes.....couldn't stay long, but sympatize with them being house bound.....not fun. Did I mention that I hate the snow....its falling again!!!!

Lazy Monday.....

Feels so good to have a non-busy day. I didn't get out of my pj's until 11:00...it was great having a cup of coffee this morning with the hubby. I am ready for the snow to be gone and for the warmer weather to start. It's about this time every year that I wish for spring and daffodils. I am having a little anxiety about Creston leaving home in less than 8 months---it doesn't seem possible. If I dwell on it for very long the tears start coming. I don't know how Audrey does it with Rylan in Oklahoma. I know we are supposed to let them go and have them find their own way and all that jazz, but no one says anything about the Mom's and how hard it is to break the apron strings. This is what happens when I have a free day....I dwell on things!! Church yesterday was wonderful. The singing was beautiful. Jaxon was adorable in his little vest....he is such a cutie. I am missing little sassy pants Nevelyn....may have to pop in for a visit.

Dinner

Last night I made lettuce wraps and Japanese pan noodles and they were both very good! Jord and I ate at the Noodle Company when were in Seattle, so I tried to remember the taste and what spices to add. Farely easy to fix and somewhat healthy to boot! Went home yesterday with a headache, made dinner, ate and the headache increased so I went to bed instead of going to church. Feel so much better this morning. Creston got excepted to University of Oregon yesterday. Now we have to figure out what its going to cost and hopefully make it work! He has been filling out scholarships every night for the last month, so I am hoping some sort of money will come his way. It would sure help. He was excited and we were happy for him and relieved he wasn't going to the University of Washington. We are ready for the family to return from Oregon.....church doesn't seem the same without them.

Cold

I am ready for a little warmer weather. Creston is home today sick so I didn't get my car warmed up this morning. It's a nice week.....only two ballgames and they are later in the week, so I actually get to go home this week...Whoo Hoo!!! We had one of the best meetings on Sunday. Really enjoyed it! Looking forward to a three day weekend.

Christening the New Stove

It was 10 degrees this morning at 9am. Bone-chilling cold, but beautifully sunny. The steam was rising off the lake like a mystic hot spring. Kerri and I went to town to run a couple of errands, this Saturday morning. I picked up a pound of Hwy 20, checked the pumps at the plant, and ran into the IGA to pickup some breakfast sausage for breakfast. After a little flirting with the little-woman, I seduced her into frying me some German-butterball potatoes (yellow russets) and shallots out of the cellar to go along with my eggs and coffee. So this is how we christen the new stove.

Hello World

Just got a phone call that Johnny Cleveland was hired by The Chronicle. He will be covering Pateros, Brewster & B-Port sports, government and school activities. Very happy about this!!! We travel to Moses Lake tonight to tackle MLCA. Not to excited about this game- it could be a tough one. Missed Ma/Pa and Gid/Brandi in church Wednesday night. It was slim picken's but good singing. I received my new stove yesterday and it is wonderful. I love it! I have already used the 2 ovens at the same time. I fixed orange/tarragon chicken in one and baked squash in the other. Keep the pictures coming Emma....love to see the updated play room.

Quad CIty Closing

I've known about the Quad City Herald closing their office for a while now, but just got informed that they eliminated Johnny Cleveland's job due to financial problems. He is the only one that covers all the kids sports and takes excellent pictures for the paper. I believe hes been working there for over 10 years. Sad. It makes me wonder if our school will get covered for anything? The Chronicle occasionally covers us, but mostly they only go as far as Brewster and only cover us if we go to State. We do all our advertising for the city through the Quad.....maybe I will give them a call and ask who is going to cover the school activities and the city activities.....afterall.....they want our money but what exactly are they giving us? Just a little irritated this morning!

New Stove

Well I broke down and went to Sav Mart and bought a new stove. Good thing they have a credit option, so we were able to get it. I'm really excited....its being delivered on Wednesday. I went ahead and purchased a double oven stove that I'm sure is going to come in handy. Busy weekend for us. Played in Oroville Friday night and then traveled to Benton City for an invite game for the girls on Saturday. Uncle Jim/Aunt Connie and Lynn came to watch the girls play. It was a lot of fun. We lost by 3 in double overtime. Not bad for playing against a 1A school. Long drive home, snowing and the roads were a little rough. Never went past 45 the whole way home. JOrd stayed home today. He took a spill while feeding Mom's chickens and wrenched his ankle. The top of his foot and toes were swollen this morning, so thought he should keep it elevated and stay off of it. It happened Friday and then he went with us to Benton City.....probably shouldn't have, but he wasn't going to miss the game. Creston spends his evenings filling out scholarships. Hope he gets some....it would be a huge help.

New Pictures

Here are a few pics that I snagged from family over the holidays. Kaylee and Alexis(Alan and Lenora's)....Dustin and his little family....and Kya/Dustin. Had to share these pic's, my family is growing.

2013

Well, we made it home yesterday afternoon. Good roads coming and going, which was a huge relief. We loved getting to see Pet in her new environment....she has a beautiful house and cute boys, but it still seemed strange to have her in Portland. Nice way to break up the trip and enjoyed seeing the Martin clan. The ocean was incredible. Jord and I spent three nights in a room that was on the beach. There was sunshine and no wind all three days.....pretty great! Jord went antique and used book store shopping and I went in a few places but its just not my thing so he would drop me off at the Outlet Malls and I would shop while he shopped. It worked out great, no schedules....just do what you want when you want. We ate lots of excellent seafood....yummy stuff. Creston and Kat seemed to have a lot of fun with the cousins and Aunts/Uncles....but both of them slept most of the way home....I do believe they were bushed! Thank you to everyone for the beds, food and good visiting, we all really enjoyed ourselves. Creston, Jord and Chad did the tour of Univ. of Oregon campus and Creston seemed really excited. I came home to my oven not working....it is flashing a error read and it will not let me do anything. So, I can't use the stove or the oven not unless I want to hear the warning beep go off continually. Called Kim and she said it had done it before and that I would have to call the repair man to fix it. Bummer!!! not sure it is worth it as the stove is at least 10 years old. I don't have the money to replace it, so we will see. I will be using the electric skillet for now.
