My Lilac Collection

Sorry for not posting my spring garden. I've just been swamped! I am so far behind. I didn't grow much extra this year, and I focused on perennials. However, I have so enjoyed my French Lilacs. Lilacs are meant to be cut, placed in a vase on the table! They have heavenly fragrance, and beautiful color. I have two not pictured, Pres. Grevy, a double blue, and Mdm. Lemoine, a double white.

The pink buds with blush blossoms is Beauty of Moscow

The blue/lilac double was planted before Kim and Marty's time. It is one of the few saved plants on the place.

This Pink/Lilac actually looks medium pink to soft pink. It's name is Montaigne. Very lovely and delicate.

Adelaide Dunbar, in bud is a deep claret. As it opens the color becomes more muted and soft. In bud form, the buds are small and almost frilly. Unique, deep color, very beautiful.

I'm very pleased with how they look from the house. My colors start blue, then blush pink, then claret, then clear pink, then white. I have seen a couple of lilacs around town that I would love to get a cutting from, but they get so big.

I love them--but how do you keep the cut ones from drooping. And-well, my head can't take all that gourgeous frangrance in the house!
