Spokane Trip

A few pictures from our trip to Manito Park. It had been a while since we had been back to the park. The perennial garden had expanded. The newly planted stuff had matured, like the hornbeam arbors. Last time we were there the trees were skinny and not even bent over yet. Lovely morning. I bought my morning coffee from the concession stand under a grove of old Hickory trees. This park was originally designed by Mr Olmsted or his boys. Classic design of the era. It is nice to see it so well used and appreciated.

Carolina Spice Bush, not as fragrant as expected, still kind of alluring

Lovely English Rose

The formal Sunken Garden

A pre-cast concrete gazebo - the wheels creativity are turning

Mr. David Austin Himself

European Hornbeam Arbors

Begonias out of the conservatory

Love the Conservatory

More irresistible begonias

Kerri and Kat, enjoying the morning view

Very well done garden

Eryngium Alpinum - One of my favorite flowers

Back home
Fresh peas for the freezer

Monster Onions

Dinner one night - Baby potatoes, Rainbow Carrots, and Fried Okra

More Carrots, they are so fun, I've never been able to grow them before. I've always had rocky or bad soil.
