Back into the Routine

It's so hard to get back into the hectic life when all you have done the last three days is sit in a car and watch the miles fly by. Kat came home from school with a 2 inch stack of make up work and Creston with about half that amount. He was bragging last night that he was almost finished and Kat was fuming mad. Thanks to Liz/Edwin for the great bed and great company. We came home to 8 brand new puppies.....sigh.....I'm really not into the puppy thing right now. We managed to stop at 3 outlet malls on the way home and got a few good deals. As the kids get older they tend to be a little more picky....and what is it with Kat's age.....the clothes look like they need to be on a 16 year old instead of a 11 year old. They wonder why there are problems in our society! The good thing is, Kat is very modest and lets hope that lasts through the 16 year old stage. Jord started back to school yesterday and he was a little grumpy.....he also has a hard time adjusting to change. Well, we got the deal of the century. I priced tickets for Gideon's wedding and was able to get them for $200.00 each....quite a steal. We are flying in on Thursday and flying home on Monday. Hotel anyone???? we are getting one and if anyone is planning on staying in a hotel, we would like to be at the same one. Indoor Pool, hot tub...etc...We still can't feel Fall in the air.....we came home to a wopping 98 degrees! I longed for the cool Oregon air.

First Day of School

Well, this morning was the kids 1st day of school. I feel a little sad this morning. My kids are growing up and becoming young adults....scary. I didn't even have to remind them to brush their teeth this morning or hound them to get ready....they were sitting on the couch 20 minutes before time to leave ready, anxious and asking if I could take them earlier than planned. Are they crazy? I know the newness of school will wear off and things will go back to normal. We are waiting for Shasta to have her pups. Not excited about this! She is due within the next week. We finally had a break in temperatures....nice relief. Ruben/Manthy and the kids were down Sunday for church, Taco's and Banana Splits. It was nice to have family-I think we all needed it. Our thoughts and prayers have been with Josh/Cynthia and its comforting to have family around when you live so far away. Jord starts back to school for his last year in two weeks. It's hard to believe he is going to actually be finished. It's been a long road for us but a good one.

Time for School!

One week until school starts for the kids. Kat is excited and Creston is groaning. He will have a busy year this year because he starts marching with the highschool band and they have to be at school by 6:45 every morning. I haven't seen the schedule for parades/competitions....last year I believe they did 11. Definately going to change my schedule as well. He will also be taking basketball and baseball. Kat is excited because she gets to take school sports this year and play ball with the big girls! Her moto is "I may be small, but just try and catch me!" Don't know for sure how we are going to fit everything in.....I haven't even said anything about Jord's schedule! We had a rough weekend. I managed to kill one of the kittens that the kids rescused after their mom was run over by a car. We all cried.....we hand fed them, nursed them and they were so cute.....I didn't know it was trying to get into the car with me and I shut the door on it...Today is the first day in 14 days that the temperature isn't supposed to hit triple digits. It just supposed to be 98, which is still hot but when it gets over 100 it is just unbearable. I wish I had a clean lake/river with no snakes to jump into. We have been swimming in one of the pools here where I work, its just with gas so expensive-we don't take extra trips to town. I've tried to get Jord to buy me a pool....I'm afraid all I'm going to get is a kiddie pool.
