Turkey is thawing.....
Very excited that Creston is coming home tomorrow. He will get here earlier than he planned thanks to Chad and Dad. We are going to have a small crowd around the table this year, but I am looking forward to seeing all the Oregon peeps. Still trying to decide if I am going to battle the crowds on Black Friday. I guess I will look at the ads and determine if I need to go. I haven't been since we've been back in Washington. I got kind of spoiled living in Oklahoma, the stores were only 10 minutes away instead of 1 hour. My family asked for Strawberry Bavarian for Thanksgiving, so I will attempt it for the first time. Safe travels everyone!

Baby its cold outside......
It was 18 degrees when I climbed into the Pilot this morning. I still haven't drug out my winter coat. I just hate being restricted with my movements and that's how I feel when I wear a heavy coat. Church last night was quiet but good. I enjoyed the singing. Basketball is in full swing. Kat is doing ok with her ankle, it hurts when she runs but she is a tough cookie. She isn't as fast as she was last year, but it will come back in time. She has been icing it every night and Mort has been wrapping it. No extreme swelling....so that is good. I am getting excited to see everyone for the holiday, especially my son. I can't believe we will get to see him in less than a week. So very happy!!!! Tuesday night, Jord made homemade chili and homemade rolls for dinner....yumminess. I could get spoiled.

On to Basketball.....
One day of rest and basketball starts.....Kat was groaning this morning. She is sore, tired but excited about basketball at the same time. The girls played so well at State. They managed to knock off the 2nd ranked team and their only loss of the season was to the team that took home the 2nd place trophy. Their goal was to place higher than last year (7th), so they were excited to bring home the 5th place trophy.

Finally, A little Blue Skies...
Mom's luncheon yesterday turned out really well. Tons of food and a great turnout. Last night was the dinner for the volleyball girls-trying to raise extra money so they don't have to eat McD's for two days. Lots of community showed up. My chicken fettuccini was gone in 20 minutes....there was so much food. Jord and I are leaving Thursday after work to head to Yakima. The girls play at 1:30 pm Friday. Jord has his last electrical test Friday morning in Yakima, so that worked out good. I am hoping to do a little Christmas shopping and take advantage of the mall. I'm really not a Yakima fan....never have really liked that town.

District Champions!
Pateros Nannies Volleyball hasn't won Districts since the early 90's. Pretty exciting.....Moses Lake was not very happy when they didn't even win one game. Yakima here we come.....it will be great to see some of my family.

A little tired....
Had full intentions of making it to church last night. I picked up Kat after practice went home to change and BAM.......to the bathroom I went and it didn't stop till 3 this morning. I know to much information! Not fun and I am tired this morning. It is a dreary, raining day and all I want to do is curl up with a blanket. Talked to Jord last night and he is about tired of eating out. I asked him what he was doing. He said "driving around trying to find something that sounds good enough to eat." Yesterday, Sheriff Rogers called and said "the White House Christmas Tree will be coming through Pateros in about 30 minutes." So, we gathered on the Hwy and watched the Sheriff's escort the two semi's through town. Pretty cool. They honked their horns and the sheriff blew the sirens.....I guess this is the second time the tree has been cut up in our area.

Hump Day
Last night the boys lost against Entiat. It was cold....could have been colder....at least the wind didn't blow. Mackenzie Gray shared her thermos of hot coffee with me. It was funny. She had a container of creamer and sugar cubes and cups. She was all set! Kat started jumping on her ankle this week. So far, so good. She was concerned about basketball and her speed. I told her it may take her a while to get her speed back. I started pricing tickets for Creston to come home during winter break. First comes Thanksgiving....I can't wait to see him! Jord comes home tomorrow night and will be done with classes....so relieved. I was out watering the critters at 6:30am in my pj's and robe. Not a happy camper about getting out in the cold first thing in the morning, but I don't get home before dark so I have to drag myself out in the morning. The dogs loved it because they got to run around while I did chores.

Tuesday Blues....
Well, Jord is gone once again and hopefully this will be the last of his classes. He was not happy about leaving after only being home 2 days. I decided not to go to dinner day on Sunday because I wanted to cook him a good dinner. I had to wait for Kat to get out of practice last night -I tried to go visit Sis Deanna , but no one was home. So, I ended up passing my time at Brandi's. She made homemade tortillas for chicken tacos and they were so good. My intention was not to eat dinner but they convinced me....LOL. It wasn't hard. Haven't heard when Bro Merle funeral is. Saturday Kat plays in Ephrata for Districts. Exciting about Tucker going to state for soccer and Rhi making it to state for cross country. It is a dreary, raining day today and the boys have a playoff game in Chelan tonight.....we are going to freeze!
