Weekend
We had a very enjoyable weekend. Jim & Terri came up for the day on Saturday. I had made Jim a batch of salsa and he couldn't wait till Thanksgiving to pick it up. Funny. We had a good visit. I cooked them taco's for lunch. Ruben called at around 4:30 asking if he could watch the Sooners game. OF COURSE!!! So, I ran to town, picked up stuff to make Chicken Fettachini and we all chowed down and promptly got indegestion when OU started losing. Oh well. Jim/Terri left at around 7:30 and Ruben and the boys at around 8:30. It was alot of fun. Church Sunday was a very good meeting. I enjoy those meetings when there is a little preaching and a whole lot of testimonies. We have a full schedule this week. Got to clean the yard that looks like a tornado went through it. Jord has been moving branches and stacks of wood with the escavator, but the kids have to rake and move the little stuff. Speaking of kids.....Is it just mine or is all the kids crabby lately? They think life should revolve around them (which most of the time it does, but I would never tell them that)I just want a little help around the house without the battle of wills. I have to thank Audrey for the tip on LIMEE-Shine. We have horrible hard water and don't have the funds to buy a water softener yet....so, Audrey told me about this product. I looked everywhere for it and no one carried it. So, Jord went online and bought it and it is fantastic!!! It doesn't take much to make me happy....food, sleep and clean dishes. Ha!

Deer!!
We were so thrilled when we got the call that Creston got his first deer and using my Dad's rifle, which hadn't been out on a hunt since Dad died. Well, three nights of cutting and cleaning and I'm not as thrilled anymore. I forgot how much work it is to cut and clean a deer. Of course, Jord and Kat didn't contribute with the project because they thought it was just gross!!! Creston was a trooper though.....him and I cut up the whole deer by ourselves. We got lots of meat for the winter and Creston asked when I was going to cook him some. So, apparantly it doesn't bother him to cut and clean and eat. He's definately my son!! We've had a bunch of sickies around here-I've been trying to stay away and hopefully we won't get it. After talking to Brandi about the shopping in Wenatchee for Shay's gift, I decided to go online and order something. I hope it gets here by Saturday. Don't go into shock everyone, I actually got my sewing machine out the other night to make Creston a bandana for spirit week. Now I wish I had an extra room where I could leave it set up and maybe I would get something done. Oh well....

Fall is Here!!
Wow...it was cold this morning. Creston hurried to get into the car...he was loaded down with a large bag stuffed full of clothes that will get him through the weekend of hunting. I guess he is camping out at Grandma's this weekend so I won't have to wake up before dawn and drive him to Pateros. We are going to miss Chad!!! And of course Emma and the boys. We enjoyed having Dad/Mom/Aunt Jean/Gid & Brandi over for dinner. Aunt Jean is a hoot! Lots of laughing and telling stories. I'm a little nervous about the Harvest Party. Jord tells me it needs to be as good as his Oregon Sisters....yeh right! is what I had to say. There are three of them and only 1 of me. Although Kim is going to help and that will be nice. We have a theme...Music artists of the 60's, 70's and 80's. Jord and I are going as Waylon Jennings and Jessie Colter. Kim and Marty said they were going as Johnny and June Cash. Should be fun....I hope everyone dresses up. Hopefully we have someone who is taking pictures. The pitching barn is coming along.....hopefully its done soon so we can get out of the cold.

Slim Pikin's
It was a slim crowd Sunday for church, but we still had a good meeting. Bro Phil made a good talk. I had to step up and start more than one song.....hard for me to do but battled through. Kat has her last game tonight against Manson. Her team beat Entiat for the second time on Saturday. Pretty rough game-one Entiat parent got thrown out of the game. He was frustrated because his daughter is normally the top scorer (21 pts) for the team. Mort put Kat on her and she only scored 2 points in the first half and 2 points in the second. It was a great game! Creston has been out hiking with Uncle Gideon. Tonight they are supposed to site in the rifles. I hope he gets a deer this year....I'm ready for some venison. I got a call from Petra on Friday. She was calling for Aunt Charlotte---she wanted to know who was voted off "Dancing with the Stars".....Ha Ha. So, I looked it up online and texted her back. Funny.... Well, I'm going to tackle a Harvest Party for the little guys and the young kids. It should be fun and we are looking forward to it. Mom, Aunt Jean, Gid & Brandi are coming over Tuesday for Lasagne and I'm excited about visiting with Aunt Jean. Jord worked this weekend on turning the inside of the barn into a pitching lane for Kat and Creston. It's coming along and we are happy to have a place for winter to keep on pitching, and it will be nice for me, because pitching lessons will be at my house and I will get home earlier.

Company is Coming!
I just got a call that Jim/Terri/Kristen and maybe Cory will be coming for Thanksgiving!!! We are so excited. It's been over 12 years since Jim and I have had Thanksgiving together. Richard is also coming and haven't got a confirmation on Alan/Lenora/Mark. Should have a house full, but I'm so happy to cook for my family. Kat's team won both games on Saturday. I thought the season was over and went home to throw away the B-Ball schedule on the refrigerator.......happened to turn it over and there are more games on the back. Nice to know I'm so with it these days. We had an enjoyable little secret sister get together yesterday. It was nice to laugh and visit a little with everyone. You miss this when you've been gone for 8 years....there is nothing like your home sisters. I heard comments that church was slow yesterday and nothing was done. Granted....there wasn't a lot done, but I felt so peaceful yesterday in meeting. Sometimes, I think we focus on how much is done-not done that we forget the feeling of just being able to be in church and sing with the brethern. All I know is the weekend is not long enough and I'm a little jealous that I'm not on the plane going to Hawaii.
