Ice, Ice, Ice
It's been 24 hours so far of falling ice. Not good. The power is still on and it's not accumulating on the trees and power lines, which is good. We have about 3-4 inches of sleet on the ground. Schools and business's are shut down. So, the kids are playing outside....thinking its snow....closet thing to it for Okie's. Jord is working on his grad project and I am thinking I need to start doing laundry so we will have something to wear on the trip. Went shopping last Saturday for Creston. I thought...it won't be hard to find black slacks and a white shirt. WRONG!!! Went to 8 different stores to find pants for this no hip, tall, skinny kid of mine. Finally found a pair at the 3rd Penny's we went to. I mean one pair....that was all they had left in his size. I breathed a sigh of relief. Just have to buy a tie for Jord, which I know I can find. The weather is supposed to be 45-50 degrees tomorrow, so the ice will be gone by late afternoon. I have enjoyed all the pictures of the kids playing ball. Rylan...just to warn you. Aunt K is a little vocal at ball games. Uncle Jord continues to pat me telling me to calm down. It just takes all the fun out of the game when you can't yell for your kids. I must get it from my mom....see was very vocal at the kid's games. Now I will have so many to cheer for...Kat, Creston, Rylan, Rhi, Irish, Tag, Dakota, Zane, Arie, Lance, Abe and the list goes on.....sounds like fun times ahead for me!!

Packing???Not....
We had a good weekend. Busy as usual. Katarina was chosen to go to Circle the State Choir. So, I dropped her off at the school at 7:15 and they practiced all day and then did the concert that afternoon. It was alot of fun. We didn't have to travel far, the concert was held in Norman. There were approximately 120-130 six and seventh graders and they were good. I was impressed. Creston won't do his all school concert until April. Church yesterday was really good. We actually had to open up the kitchen and use all the chairs......we haven't been that full in some time. Lots of visiting brethern from all over the state, church ended up going for a little over 3 hours. We are preparing for an ice storm that is supposed to come today and tomorrow. After last year, we are a little nervous. We hope that power will stay on. I am relieved that it will be over before Thursday because we fly out during the day. I need to start packing......had to remind Jord that baggage costs!!! We will probably buy a couple of carryons....but then that would pay for 1 bag checked in. So who knows....see everyone on Friday. Some of you I will get to see Thursday!!!! Yippee!!!

Less than two weeks
The kids have a countdown to Gideon's wedding....less than two weeks! We are very excited but probably not as much as Brandy and Gideon. We had a quiet weekend. Just the normal get groceries.....I thought about posting my specials like Liz does but the stores we use are local and not chain stores. I got boneless/skinless chicken breasts for $1.29 pound......much cheaper and healthier than hamburger. Kat got to go to the OKC Thunder game (previously known as Supersonics of Seattle)....she had a blast. She then got invited to go to a girls OU Basketball game and I think she loved that more than the Thunder game. Jord has been working fiercely on his grad project trying to get it done. Creston had zero activities this weekend, which was nice or me because he helped me around the house. Kat had to do her share between her games. Church was good on Sunday, we had visiting brethern from Parkland. It was a packed house.....I told Jord the one thing I will miss the most is the singing. It is so enjoyable to sing with the Purcell brethern. I've been tried a little lately----second guessing our decision to move....worried about the ecomony. Guess what was preached on Sunday???? Worrying about worldly possessions and having faith that God will provide. So, woke up this morning with a better mind. We know this is what we are supposed to do and God will provide!

Quiet on the Homefront
Pretty quiet Saturday. It was 70 degrees yesterday and woke this morning to 26 degrees...its no wonder I can't get rid of this cold. Kat and I went to get groceries this morning while Jord worked on his grad project....its very good....I think its his best work yet. Creston is telling me I need to get boxes so we can pack the things we don't use. Kids!!! Does he not know that we still have almost 5 months left....I don't want to look at packed boxes for 5 months. I hope the weather straightens up before Gideon/Brandi's wedding. I really don't want to get stuck in Denver. It's exciting to have Emma, Dad and Jerry with Blogs.....before long, its going to take me a full day to get to everyone's blogs. I love it...it makes us feel connected to the family.

It Finally Caught Up With Me
Yep! I did it....coming home from Kat's basketball game I got a whopping speeding ticket. Never had one before....been stopped many times but somehow managed to get out of it. Jord has warned me that I was going to get caught and sure enough I was on unfamiliar back roads headed back to Norman and I was doing 62 in a 45.....$170.00 ticket that has to be paid before we leave for the wedding. So much for me wanting to eat fresh seafood....it will be McDonalds for us. Special THANKS to EMMA for the Christmas present. I went and spent it when Bath/Body was having their big sale. Loved it!!! Thank you.

Life at the Wilson's
We are back to school and back on the normal schedule. I've been battling cold/congestion for about a week now. Just when I think I have it kicked.....it comes back in the night. Miserable stuff but not as bad as what is going around in Pateros. We opened a envelope that came in the mail yesterday and smiling back at me were two of the sweetest little Wilson girls. Thanks Cynthia....we love the pictures. Just remembered today that I haven't reserved our car for the Olympia trip....better get on it or we will be thumbing it. Sis. Dorthy Brown has been pretty bad. We don't know if she got the flu or if she had a stroke.....she definately needs prayers. Emma needs to invite all of us to her blog....we are waiting very impatiently. Looked around the house and thought about the job thats ahead packing up all the stuff we have accumulated in the last 8 years. I am not looking forward to that part at all. Creston definately thinks that we are not going to be able to fit everything in one U-Haul. I told him that we get the biggest one and he is saying "no way Mom....we can't fit it all in" , we will have to see. Teenagers think they know so much and us adults haven't a clue.....Funny....I wonder if I acted that way when I was a teenager! I've been told by Conn and Greg that I was somewhat of a brat....Can you believe that!

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to everyone. It was a pretty quiet night at the Wilson's for New Year's Eve. I had got sick on Tuesday with the headache, fever, sore throat....missed work on Wednesday and stayed home to bring in the New Year. We played games with the kids---Jord made it until 11:40 and went to bed and was asleep by 11:50! The kids and I stayed up until midnight and then to bed for me. Feeling pretty good today. We just ate BBQ ribs and bunches of other stuff for the New Year....Jord decided to go for his walk to try and work off the last half of his dinner and I decided to take Christmas down. What a chore!! I guess I'm doing better than last year, we left it up until February because no one wanted the job of taking it down! We are counting the days.....can't wait until January 29th.....let's hope we don't get stuck in Denver!
