Rescue Me....

So I had to sit next to an old lady at court on Tuesday and she was complaining about being sick with a sore throat, body hurting, and headache.  I'm like....great....and sure enough, I woke up Wednesday sick!!!! Been sick the last two days, been sleeping in the recliner because I can't breathe and have an earache.   I came to work today because the staff wants their paychecks.  Imagine that!  I do feel some better so I am not going to complain.  Jord and I picked up our new glasses.  It is nice to be able to read the little print up close.  Marty & Kim are gone to a business something or other so Lance is eating at our house and sleeping at his.  Kat has been helping him with his lines.  He got the main part for the musical this year.  It should be fun to watch. Talked to Pet a little yesterday and I am so jealous that they get to go on a 3 week trip.  Sounds like so much fun.

Crazy Weather

Sunday, we had Ma/Pa over for ribs.  Enjoyed the day relaxing and visiting while Jord/Dad worked at the kitchen table.  I had to appear for jury duty this morning in Okanogan.  Fun times.  I wasn't chosen but still have to report in again on Monday.  That isn't going to work for me at all if the girls make it to State.  I guess I shouldn't complain, this is the first time I have ever been called for jury duty.  Brain is fried so I am signing off.

Friday for me......

It's a good thing Jord and I have tomorrow off or we would be dragging.  The girls game is late and that means a late night.  We have spent most of our free time this week looking for Bandit....no luck.  Time is not in our favor.  Kodiak is lost and doesn't seem to know what to do without Bandit (mopey ).  Although, when we pulled in the drive last night, he started talking to us so that was a good sign that he will be o.k.  When do you give up and stop looking?  I know...I am the sentimental type, but we got Bandit as a puppy from a rescue shelter in Oklahoma and he made the big journey to the NW with us......he is such a great watch dog over the poultry its hard to wrap my head around it.  Hope all has a great weekend.....haven't seen Ma/Pa yet....looking forward to it.

So ready for Spring.

Watched amazing basketball games on Friday night.  Saturday, Jord and I went to Omak to pick up a few things.  Sunday was church and quiet time at home (loved it) and Monday Jord and I decided to drive the loop.  It was beautiful....clear blue skies....made a quick stop at Hank's before heading home.  Sunday night, I woke up to the dogs going off.  By the time I woke up Jord, they had settled back down so we didn't get up to check.  Monday morning, Bandit was gone.  Something must have been in the yard and Bandit broke out of his pen.  Kodiak stayed, but Bandit is no where to be found.  We searched numerous times (Kat, Lance, Me and Jord) but nothing.  He has done this once before and was gone for 3 days before he found his way home.  But, he was younger and could hear.  Distressing....we are hoping for the best.

Verdict is.....

Eyes are great.....just have to have reading glasses.  Jord has been up the last two mornings at 2 am to plow snow and now its 48 degrees outside and its a sloppy mess.  Roads are clear so that is a relief.  Talked with Creston yesterday for a while.  I love it when he calls just to chat.....can't wait till Spring break.  Jord and I went out for an early Valentines dinner at Los Comperos.  I hadn't been in there for years and the food was delish.  Getting anxious for Districts and Regional basketball and hopefully State.  However, I would like to make a trip to the ocean and just relax.

Good Morning....

Friday night the girls thumped Entiat, which makes all of us Pateros peeps really happy.  I planned on a quiet Saturday in my comfy clothes, but that wasn't what happened.  Anthony text Kat and said he was playing a tournament in Omak Sat/Sun.  So, we all jumped in the car and headed out to Omak to watch him play.  He is a good player....little hot tempered and loses his patience with the ref's but still really fun to watch.  Jord introduced himself to his Mom and visited with her for a while.  She said Anthony told her some of his cousins where coming to the game and that he was excited. Very nice young lady. She told us Anthony had a blast at the Christmas party, so I am glad we made the effort.  Sunday was a good meeting and then I cooked Lasagne for a team dinner that Rhi hosted for the girls basketball team.  Tomorrow I am going to finally have my eyes checked and get glasses.  I have been putting this off for over a year, which is stupid because I get everything totally paid through the city.  Working on the computer all day everyday has been brutal on my eyes so I am actually looking forward to wearing glasses.  I keep dreaming of warm days, sunshine, sand, water, floatie.......

Are you frozen yet?

I don't know how the chickens, geese, rabbits and dogs have been surviving in this cold weather.  People say.....make sure you bring your animals inside during this cold snap.....like we can move a barnyard full of critters and two Great Pyrenees into the house.  We actually had last night free to do absolutely nothing.  I cooked stir fry and bundled up in a warm blanket and life was good.  Tonight we travel to Entiat for basketball.  I hate playing on their court, you never know what might happen.  Happy weekend everyone.

Hump Day

Not very happy about the schools changing Wilson Creeks game to a Wednesday night.  Is it me or is it getting more frequent that schools are scheduling on Wednesday nights?  It used to be taboo.  We have a very cold week in the low teens......I don't like it!  I keep dreaming of warm sunshine, suntan lotion, snacks and Lake Chelan.  Funny story......Brandi/Nevelyn came and watched the SuperBowl with us.  I had bought Seahawk cupcakes and I gave Nevelyn one.  Later I came by the table and noticed she only ate the frosting and left the cupcake.  I told her "you only ate the frosting, Nevelyn."  She replies to me...."that's what kids do".   Cracked me and Jord up.....she is too big for her britches!!!
