Homecoming Week

The girls volleyball team is undefeated.  They beat ACH last night 3 to 1.  Pretty exciting.  It is homecoming week this week and Kat has been home late every night.  It is so good to have Jord home, I slept like a baby.  He will be home for the weekend and leaves again on Monday for 3 days for another round of classes for the city.  Kat and I did pretty good with the chores while he was gone except one morning......I went out and the hose was frozen and I refused to haul water in 5 gallon buckets.  I was in the middle of throwing a fit when Jord called and said he was on his way home and would be there in time to do chores.....thank goodness! I am not much of a farmer.  Funny thing though....when Jord got home Kodiak would not even look at him...apparently he was not happy that his Dad was gone for 5 days.

Jorge and Kat wearing OKC Thunder jerseys.  She told him her's was better because she actually got to go to the game and watch Kevin Durant.

Good Morning

Busy weekend....Friday went to watch the boys football.  Saturday, I went and picked up Zane and he worked putting the straw in the barn for us then I volunteered to help at the school carnival.  There were so many people.....I have never been and I was shocked....it was like the whole town of Pateros showed up.  I was exhausted by the time 7:00pm rolled around.  Sunday was church and Secret Sister party.  Only two more nights alone and then Jord comes home.  I will be so relieved. Kat has two volleyball games this week.  One of them got rescheduled for Wednesday night....I'm not very happy about that.  It seems like the school has been doing that more frequent, which is irritating.  We will have a busy November with Districts and State and Thanksgiving.

O'La

It's Friday and I am cooking tacos for the crew today.  Got to feed them something good before the staff meeting!  Jord leaves tonight and will be gone until Wednesday :( I absolutely hate it when he is gone.....I don't sleep well.....every little sound wakes me up.  Kat and I will travel to Soap Lake to watch the boys football game.  I think this is one of the prettiest fall seasons we have had....the colors are amazing.  Happy trails to you.....

Mid week and foggy

Kat played for the first time last night.  She only played 1/2 the rotation....no front row yet....still can't jump.  I cringed every time she went for the ball. She did really well-very tired after the game.  This morning, no swelling and she is walking without the boot. So thankful.  Jord has been cramming for the electrical test he has to take in Federal Way this Saturday.  He is a little freaked out about it.....says he is not prepared enough to pass the test.  He will be gone for 5 days starting Friday.  He also has a 3 day class in Spanaway for the city.  I considered going with him, but what does a person do in Spanaway? Tonight, Uncle Dwain and Aunt Jean are coming for dinner.  We haven't seen them yet so I am excited to visit with them.  Our yard is still decorated from the Harvest Party and my house is not spotless, but oh well......hopefully the food will be good!

Brrrr......

It was a little chilly this morning.  I guess its time for the socks to come on and the jacket to come out of the closet.  I got to visit with Creston for  a while last night.  Always makes me feel so much better when I can talk to him.  He sounds great and says he is doing great!  I asked Nevelyn last night if she got to see Creston.....she nods her head and tells me "I went to Ashon's house and got to sleep in Cweston's bed.....so cute....I love how she says Ashton.  Guns were going off this morning close to our house, so someone must have got a deer.  It sounded a little to close to comfort for me.  We are busy getting things ready for the Harvest Party on Sunday.  It will be so nice to use my grassy area.  Jord is working on the fire pits so people can stay toasty warm.  He pulled all of the pepper plants last night so they wouldn't freeze.  More canning for me....whoo hoo :(  Not sure when that is going to happen.

Looking forward to a night in......

Jord and Gideon are going to get the annual load of straw to winterize the critters, then Jord treats Gid to a Nell's burger.  I could go but I think I will stay home and veg.  Kat is getting better slowly.  She is wearing a walking air boot.  It seems to help but by the end of the day she is shot.  She came home last night, ate and went straight to bed. I've been trying to plan the Harvest Party.  I am excited to have it this year, but it will be different without Creston.  Jord and I watched the river otters this morning jump on and off the docks.  They were so fun to watch....playful little guys. Hope Oregon peeps have a great party for the little ones.....it always looks like so much fun.

Sunday

Good to hear my Aunt Venita sing today in church.  Brings back so many memories.  We had Gid/Brandi/Nevelyn over for dinner and Nevelyn got to pick out her pumpkins.  She is such a chatterbox.  We had our first winter squash out of the garden.....yumminess.  Hope all had a great weekend!
