3 Day wkd ahead.....

Whoo Hoo.....get to have 3 full days off.  I plan on getting my salsa taken care of and maybe put up some peaches/pears.  Creston is going hiking/camping with Gideon and Rylan and Kat has vball. I think us girls may try and squeeze in one last lake trip on Sunday.  It's supposed to be in the 90's. I am trying to figure out a way to get on the floatie with my bum toe.  I still can't wear shoes, but it is getting better slowly.  I haven't been able to bend my big toe.  I try it everyday but it doesn't seem to want to move that direction.  I am able to sleep with a sheet over it so I know it is improving.  I manage to sleep in my bed till about 3 or 4 am and then to the recliner. Jan said I should get an Ugg boot and cut out the end of it for winter time.  Funny! Last night Creston made homemade wonton soup.  It was incredible!  He went to the store and bought all the supplies, followed the recipe and it was really good.  I think he may be trying to prove a point.  Anyway, I made spicy sweet/sour pork over rice to go with his soup and his soup was the highlight of the night!  He said he was making it because it was National Dumpling Week.  Crazy kid. I just visited Steena's blog and seen all the pic's of Chantry.  I can't wait to kiss his sweet cheeks.  See all of you in about three weeks.

Yummy.......

Lasagne, Salad, Corn, Bread & Raspberry/Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream (Brandi made) for dessert.  Brandi/Nevelyn & Kat helped make dinner for Dads Bday last night.  We had 13 at the table so I think Dad felt the love.....Dinner was great, dessert was the bomb!  We sang "Happy Birthday" to Dad at the dinner table and asked Nevelyn to help us,  but she was embarrassed and hid her head....it was too cute!!!! The table was full of laughter as usual and overall a very good evening.  I wish we could've fed-ex some Lasagne down to Audrey-it didn't seem right that her and Mom wasn't at the dinner table.  Gideon snatched up a good helping for his lunch and the rest went in the refrigerator-hopefully Jan took it for her lunch.

I have been blessed to call him "Dad" for 20+ years.  Very thankful for all you do for us and for what you believe.  Happy Birthday!!!

The Fun Starts all over again......

I don't really like Mondays.  It's the beginning of another long week and I wish it was Friday so I could have a 3 day weekend.  Church yesterday was pretty good.  Kind of quiet but enjoyed the preaching.  We went to the Salcido's for dinner and it was delish.  Ruben grilled steak, and Manthy made rolls, green beans, salad and sour cream potatoes...yumminess.   Enjoyed the visit with her and the kids.  It's amazing how fast kids grow up, I see flash backs of Oklahoma and the kids were still young and Ruben/Manthy would come over for dinner after church.  I was telling Zane about all the girls I could hook him up with that lived in Purcell.  I think he may have been impressed with my skills! LOL!  Saturday, Jord and I went to Tonasket for the Garlic Festival....what a joke.  Not much of a festival.  I did enjoy the morning with my husband- we have been trying to get out early on Saturday mornings and go for a little jaunt here or there.  It's what we call our "chill down time".  Oh by the way....to all my Oregon Sisters.....Creston said that he probably wouldn't miss my cooking very much because he could cook everything I cook and it would taste the same!  So.....you hold him to that and make him cook all of you Lasagne or Fried Chicken and we will see how he does.  Little booger!!!

Another Week gone....

I can't believe it is almost the end of August.  The summer has flown by.  Yesterday, Manthy/Jaxon came to visit at city hall.  He is such a little goober.....walking everywhere and has the "flirt but don't touch me" look.  Brandi/Nevelyn stopped by too....Nevelyn had to get her snack.  She had her helmet on and was riding her little bike.  So cute.  Jim/Terri are bringing up more irrigation pipe today and going to have lunch with Jord/I.  I am excited.  I love spending time with my brother.....we are so much alike.  He just gets me, if you know what I mean.  Kat has been doing a 3 day volleyball camp this week and is so sore she can barely move.  It will get her ready for next week when HS vball starts up for the season.  Creston just works and comes home dirty/tired and not very social.  I force him to visit with me a little bit each night, and if I have to play the "guilt" card......I will!! Gloomy and raining today in Pateros.....hope all have a great weekend.

Back Home

We made it through the shopping expedition.  We did it in short spurts of 2-3 hours and then rest with foot elevated, then back out for another round.  I did pretty good but very glad it is done.  We really enjoyed Jim/Terri.  Jord and Jim planted Jim's grass in his newly landscaped backyard that Jord designed for them last year.  It turned out really great and they seem thrilled with it.  Kat starts volleyball next week and she is ready for school to start.  Creston is checking things off his list of things he has to do before he leaves in September.  We will be moving him down this time next month.....hard to believe.  Getting excited for the new little "Martin" to arrive.....probably not as excited as Pet.  The picture is of Manito Park in Spokane.  We go there to see the beautiful gardens.

Hobble, Hobble

Still hobbling around in my walking boot.  Trying not to walk anymore than necessary.  Kat has been so good to me these last 10 days.  She has cooked dinner every night and tried to keep the house going.  Yesterday, she had my foot salt water ready for me when I walked in.....good daughter!  I guess this is one way she will learn how to cook.  So far she has made fried pork chops, taco salad, fajitas, spaghetti, tacos, goulash and etc.....not bad.  The highlight of my day is when Nevelyn stops by for her snack at city hall.....she is talking up a storm.

Weekend Plans

We are headed to Spokane this weekend for school shopping and to make salsa for big brother Jim.  I am not sure how much shopping I will be doing as I am still in a walking boot.  My toe felt so much better Sunday, I thought it would be in good shape by this weekend, but Monday morning I woke up and had a lot of pressure behind the nail and it was so painful.  I dealt with it all day, went home soaked it for an hour and took a needle and went under my nail to try and relieve some of the pressure.  Prayed before I went to bed and asked God to relieve the pain and make it drain.....I woke up this morning and it had drained some and feels better. Its still pretty painful.....who thought a toe could cause so much trouble!!! Very thankful for the relief in the night.  The air this morning felt like fall was coming......time to start planning the Harvest Party.

So Glad It's Friday!

What a long, tiring week.  So glad that I can have two days to put my foot up and do nothing!  Oh wait.....I pretty much did that all week!  Kat has been wonderful- cooking dinner every night and tackling the house chores during the day.  Creston comes home from work dirty and beat and seems to be on a mission to get ready for Oregon.  I'm glad he is ready in his mind/heart and feels good about his decision.  He really enjoyed his time last weekend.  Had a good visit with Brian/Michelle last night- nice of them to come by.  The kids are off to the Stampede tonight so Jord and I will have to entertain ourselves!  Have a great weekend everyone.

Not for the faint at heart........

So, yesterday morning I had the museum door pop back on my big toe.  Very painful and not pretty to look at.  I was thankful that Jord happened to be in the office when it happened because there was blood everywhere and I don't know how I would've made it to the phone to call for help.  Jord took the day off to take me home and care for me.  Spent the day with my foot in the air and soaking it every 2 hours.  It does feel better today.  I am walking very little, but when I do, I have a foot boot with open toe space.  Fun times!!

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!

I wanted so bad to jump in the car with those boys and head to Oregon this morning!  Somehow, I don't think they would have been thrilled to haul me around! LOL.  Life is once again crazy for me.  My emotions are shot....I got a little teary eyed this morning when Creston walked out of the house with his bag and pillow.....he's just going for the weekend for pete's sake!  I really need a couple more lake days but don't know if that is going to happen.  Richard is coming for dinner tonight and to pick up some fresh eggs and cucumbers.  It's going to be a pasta and salad night at the Wilson's!!! Nothing like pasta or tacos to cure all of life's woes!
