So very tired......

All we have done this last month is run up and down the road.  I almost talked myself into staying home Sunday morning but knew Kat needed a ride to the campout.  We got home at around 11:00 pm Saturday night, got up at 5:00 am to get ready to go to camp.  So glad I went.  Really enjoyed meeting and visiting with everyone.  I had a good long visit with Sis. Audrey McGaughy which was wonderful.  Got to visit Jacob/Jai for a bit and Zach Henderson.  The Foote's came by yesterday and visited again for quite awhile.  It was nice because Jord got to see the kids and visit with Jacob (they have the sweetest kids).  I am only working two days this week so I can get ready for Creston's graduation.  Janice and the kids will be in late Wednesday night.  We are free tonight, baccalaureate on Wed, Thursday is the sports awards BBQ, Friday I will be doing last minute preparations for Sat and it goes from there.  Creston was told today that he is the Salutatorian for his class.  He was pretty excited except the part about having to write a speech!  It will be good for him.  Good thing is- we are supposed to have really nice weather on Saturday for the BBQ!

Happy Birthday Pateros! 100 years

Had the birthday potluck for the 100 year celebration.  It actually turned out really good.  Lots of community people and lots of food.  Originally, it was supposed to be in the park with live music from the PHS band /choir.  But, the rain decided to come and stay and we moved everything to the school.  Notice the front row and the little person holding the letter "A".....that would be Ms. Nevelyn.....she did a great job balancing her letter and eating her hotdog!  Tag is holding the the "S".

Thankful

Days like today make me so thankful.  Talked with Mike/Janice yesterday.  They are all ok.  The storm was very close to where they live.  The only thing that was damaged was her car.  I waited to hear from friends I worked with and finally got the last call this morning from Emily.  She worked for me for 6 years.  There house is very damaged, but her family is safe.  She had 2 german shepard dogs that survived the storm outside. She posted pic's of her street and there is nothing left except 1/2 of her house.  Jennifer who was my assistant lives in the country and the tornado was headed directly to her farm.  It turned 1 mile from her house, so she and her horses are fine.  So many brethren live in that area, but I believe everyone is ok.  Some of their homes are badly damaged but no lives lost.  Kat and Creston got calls/texts from friends reassuring them that they were ok.  So glad I live in the beautiful state of Washington.

Last Hurrah!

The boys lost their State game.  I was doing ok with it being Creston's last game....no tears or anything until Creston hugged me and Jord and started crying. My boy does not cry very often. He said he wasn't upset about losing, just that he wouldn't be able to play with these boys next year.  Then Creston hugged Lance and they were emotional.  Lance said "I can't believe this is it."  Great season for them and a good way to go out by making it to State.  I feel like I've been hit by a truck.  Long weekend, but got to see Uncle Jim/Aunt Connie and have lunch with them.  We were happy to see Ma/Pa there too.  Excellent turn out for the boys.....lots of town people and we were noisy!  I have late nights the next three nights then we leave Friday morning for Yakima for State Softball.  Should be tons of fun.  Ruben/Manthy/Jaxson came to visit last night....really enjoyed that.  I feel like I haven't visited with anyone except baseball/softball parents lately.  Hope everyone has a great week......travel safe if you are leaving home.

District Champions! On to State!!!

Great game....girls won 5-1.  We had a great day, picked up Nevelyn and Brandi and headed out to Ellensburg.  Now we will rise in the morning and leave at 6 am to go to Yakima for State Baseball.  We are taking the school Excursion with 1/2 of the softball team so they can cheer on the boys.  Might be an exciting ride to Yakima.  Liz- Yes, we did get the package.  Thanks!  I wore my lucky shirt and I guess it worked~

Days are Flying By......

I can't believe its Wednesday already.  We have to go to Ellensburg on Friday for Kat's Districts and then turn around and go back in the morning to Yakima for State for Creston.  We considered staying the night, but don't have the funds to do that as we already have to book rooms for Memorial wkd for State for Kat.  My cupboards are bare, gas tank is dead empty, used the last of the toilet paper this morning.  I think I really need to get some groceries.  You know its bad when Jord opens a can of hominy to eat for late night snack.  Yuck!   Had to make an emergency stop at Mom's yesterday so she could mend one of Kat's game socks.  Kat grabbed the wrong pair and the toe was completely blown out!  We asked Mom to sew it straight across because we had zero time.....Kat had to catch the game bus.  Worked out good.....Kat was happy and the girls blew Waterville away at sub districts.  I stopped counting at 30-0.  It wasn't much of a game.  Creston is busy finishing up all the important stuff for school.  It is crazy how busy he is.....every night he is tackling something, either for the honors program or senior project.  Kat finished up her driver's ed......just needs more hours driving time before she takes her test.  I asked Nevelyn the other day if she was ready to go to the lake with her auntie.....she nods her head.  She is quite the talker.......can't wait for lake days- its what keeps me kickin'.

Pie Overload

Hope all the Mom's had a great day yesterday!  Jord picked the rhubarb out of the garden and we headed to Mom's to bake up two strawberry/rhubarb pies.  I didn't know that Jan had made a frozen strawberry cream pie and a sour cream lemon pie.  So, we sampled everything and it was SOOOO good.  (the rhubarb was much better this morning with coffee) Creston ate one full piece of every kind of pie last night and then tried to snag Kat's piece after we got home.  That kid has a serious sweet tooth! We had a fun weekend at the ball fields-got a little sunburnt but it felt so good to be outside in the sunshine and it also felt good to feel good! Went to church Sunday for the first time in 1 1/2 weeks.  Still don't have a voice to sing, tried singing base....that wasn't working out to well, so I kept my mouth shut.  By the end of this month we will have made the trip to Ellensburg/Yakima three weekends in a row...hard on the finances, but happy for the kids.  It has been since 2007 that Pateros Baseball has won Districts.  Pretty exciting!  I am meeting with Sis. Marcy today to go over what we need for the graduation BBQ......time is closing in on me.

District Baseball Champions!!!!

So excited for the boys.  Creston pitched the first game and we won 3-1.  Lance pitched the second game and we won 9-7, Creston caught.  They played hard and played very well.  Finally after 4 years of playing ball, we get to bring home the trophy.  Now its the girls turn.  Half of the softball girls tye-dyed shirts and was the boys cheering section.

Thankful its Friday!

Thank you Tegan for the great picture!  Loved it.  Last night, Kim & Lance showed up at the house....said they were coming to join the invitation stuffing party.  So, grateful.....we finished up around 10:00 pm.  My nerves were shot......telling Creston to focus.....sign the pictures.....yes, this is how you spell it......it would've been easier if I had done it, but I told myself to breathe and we would get through it.  Kim was the official licker....LOL.  She sealed all the envelopes.  Kat and Lance did all the trimming of the wallets and put stamps on.  I put the nametags inside the invitations and stuffed them into envelopes.  It is quite the process.  They are done and mailed...thank goodness! Jord had a rough evening.  After spending time putting the irrigation system in, our irrigation pump decided to go out.  ($800-1500) No way to water anytime outside, don't have the money to replace it.  Marty came over and the guys worked on it till 9:00 pm and got it going....so thankful.  Our a/c went out in the Honda 2 weeks ago.  ($500) I told Jord we were going to have to wait to fix it, he reminded me that in order to go to Eugene, he had to have a/c or he wouldn't be able to breathe.  I got in the car yesterday and it is working......very thankful.  I am reminded of the little things today to be thankful for....oh....and I also slept in my bed all night.....first time in 2 weeks that I haven't ended up in the recliner with a coughing fit.

Don't even know what day of the week it is......

Went to work on Monday not feeling 100%, but tired of staying home.  Left at 2:30 to watch Kat's game (wasn't much of a game we won in 3 innings).  Tuesday stayed home and chilled till it was time for Creston's game.  The boys won and onward they go......they play in Kittitas Saturday for a State berth.  Loser out as there is only one entry to State.  Creston pitched an amazing game....had 15 strikeouts.  Lots of fun to watch.  Put in a long night of coughing, finally gave up and went to the recliner.  Here at work today probably should've stayed home, but the mayor is gone for 3 weeks and I get nervous if both of us are gone.  I know Audrey can relate....although she had it much worse than me.  On a positive note....Jord got the irrigation in on 1/2 of the place.  Turned in on and it was so exciting to see those little sprinkler heads pop up out of the ground! It really doesn't take much to excite me these days.  So, hopefully I will get a patch of grass this year and trees in the fall.  I told Creston/Kat not to make any plans Thurs/Friday night because we were going to have to get the graduation invitations out.  Creston looked at me like "what???? I have to help with that???" Kids think Mom's do everything.  I told him I would gladly do it myself, but that when the money started coming in the mail from graduation gifts he had to split it with me! "I will help." he said. Gotta love kids. Thanks to Jan for all the pic's.....I had to share these.

I knew better.....

Hack, hack....cough, cough.....sneeze.  It was such a nice day out on Friday that I told myself I felt good enough to go with the Evan's to watch Creston play at Royal City.  Felt pretty good until on the way home.  Body started aching, coughing....yuck.  Put in a rough night and had to listen to Jord's "I told you so" comments.  So, I stayed home today and am not going to venture out again until maybe Monday or Tuesday,  depending on how I feel. Uncle Don and Aunt Pat showed up today and spent the day with us. They are staying the weekend at Lake Chelan and came down to visit.  It was so nice seeing them. Richard came for lunch and visited too.  I tried to keep my distance, I really don't want them to get the flu.  I am thankful that I don't have the full blown stuff that Jord and Audrey had....so thankful!

Home Today

I came home last night aching all over and a sore throat....great....went to bed and put in a miserable night.  Feel better this morning.  Just a sore throat, no aching....so I am hoping I don't have the long bug stuff, just a shorter version.  No time to be sick. It is beautiful outside today.  Sun is shining and it is supposed to be warm the next several days. Hopefully, it is warming up the lake so we can swim in June.
