Running....like a chicken with its head cut off!

I'm trying to get all the city stuff done before I leave next week. It's crazy!!! Not a good time for me to be gone for 10 days. Went to W-ville last night and watched Pateros vball win again. Tonight is a home football game so Jord and I will be at the gates taking money and then at the concession stand the last half. Tomorrow Kat actually has a home game then we are off to Wenatchee to grocery shop and pick up a few things for my trip. Sunday is church and moving Richard into his apartment. He is excited to get his own space.....hasn't been bad having him around....of course, I haven't been home a whole lot so it hasn't affected me! I ordered the bling for Petra's cake today. I check one thing off my list and two more things get added. Got told last night that the Pateros Girls Vball team was ranked 2nd in state. Kind of exciting as they are a younger team....only two seniors. I actually had to put on a light jacket this morning......fall is coming.....not sure I am ready for winter.

Mya Renee Cole

She decided she wanted to come into the world early!!!! Here she is.....born at 3:00 pm today to Janice and Michael. Love it!!!!

Sunday

Jord, Richard and I got up early and went to Snohomish to see Alan/Lenora/Kaylee and Alexis. Oh my....what a sweetie. Forgot the camera (shocked) so we didn't get any pictures. She is beautiful and petite and such a good baby. Really enjoyed spending the day with them. We went to Kevin/Cyndi's to see Aunt Shirley before coming home. Sad...she isn't doing good at all and needs lots of prayers. Cyndi and her family is doing all the care giving.....I told Cyndi....good thing she had lots of kids. So far, they have been able to handle it and hope they can continue without outside help. It was good to visit and talk about Mom/Dad & Uncle Jay/Aunt Shirley......lots of memories and sad they are all gone except Aunt Shirley. So glad we went and promised to come back soon. She hasn't left the house in almost 3 months, so her days get very long. On a brighter note....Richard told Jord about a bakery in Sultan (I think). We stopped. They make everything from scratch...even the donuts. The place was packed with a line out the door. You must stop and try a donut next time you go through....it was divine. Yes, I did....I had a donut! So good.....I savored every bite! Jord kept looking at my donut asking if I was almost finished because he was going to eat the rest of it if I didn't hurry up and finish it. Men...

Thought we had it bad.....

Went to Entiat for Kat's vball game last night and by the time I got in the gym I was choked up, coughing and cleared my throat thru the whole game. Had a hard time breathing coming home. Ash was falling from the sky and it is pretty miserable living in Entiat and Wenatchee. I was surprised that the smoke bothered me, but still have a heavy chest this morning and not feeling 100% today. Pateros Volleyball girls have been winning everything....its fun to watch them play. Creston's Cross Country meet was cancelled for Saturday in Wenatchee and don't know if they will try to reschedule. He and Rhi have been running indoors on the treadmill. I heard today that Chelan outdoor sports was practicing in Okanogan due to air quality. I wonder what our football team is going to do.....after this week they have 3 home games in a row.....including homecoming. If our air doesn't clear up, they are talking of closing Pateros Schools. Kat said they are supposed to test the air quality and let the students know. Fun times here in Washington.....I'm ready to head out of this town into fresh air!

Smokey Mountain

You hold your breath when you go outside in Pateros today. It is smokey. Don't like the fact that our mountain is on fire. My brother Jim came over last night to get a load of their stuff out of the barn and to pick up his salsa. He got to sit down for a dinner of Pot Roast, homemade biscuits and fresh tomatoes. It was yummy! Very nice to have both my brothers at the table! Jord is better this week. He is working, but still has a bad headache most of the day- I think its the smoke. Busy week this week as usual. I have to go to Entiat for Vball Thursday and Saturday to Wenatchee for Cross Country, then Sunday we are heading to Snohomish to see Alexis Marie. I really enjoyed the family last weekend, wish we could've spent more time with everyone.....I did really enjoy my little nieces and nephews.

Friday!!!

Jord has been sick all week....I can't remember the last time he actually missed a full week of work for sickness. Not fun stuff....it just hangs on....been a rough week for him. Creston is home sick today. We are supposed to go to Snohomish Sunday morning to spend the day with Alan/Lenora, but at this rate not sure what is going to happen. Excited to see all the Oregon peeps.....

Kids and Activities

Creston was in this week's Omak Chronicle- he is the third guy back. There was a picture of him running down the hill in Tonasket Cross Country meet. I tried to snatch it online, but could only get it in tiny form. So, get your magnifying glass......

Canning

It happens every year.....everything comes off at once to can and I don't have enough hours in the day to get it done. Friday night, Jord and I did the gates for football the first half and the second half we worked in the concession stand. Saturday, Jerry picked up Creston for Cross Country and grabbed Kat and dumped her off at the fair. Jord and I left our house in plenty of time to get to Tonasket to watch the kids run.....(we thought). Arrived in Tonasket with about 5 minutes before Rhi was scheduled to run and had to make an emergency restroom stop and by the time we parked and walked to the race.....I missed her coming across the finish line. I was so mad!!! They both did amazing. Got home and tackled another batch of salsa. Cleaned house with the help of my two kids.....getting ready for Richard. We did find him an apartment in Pateros for October 1st, $425/month and they pay all utilities including electric! Great deal. Sunday went to church, came home and fixed haystacks then started canning pears. Pears are Jord and Creston's favorite....I hate to can them....they take so much time to peal. Only canned 1/2 as the rest were not ready. So guess what I will do tonight? Another busy week ahead.....but I am loving the weather change!

New Roomie

Richard was notified that he got the custodian position at Brewster Schools and starts next week.  Very happy for him that he doesn't have to work at Walmart anymore and he will have normal hours instead of working nights...so we are pretty excited.  It has been hard on his health working night hours. So, he will have to stay with us until he finds a rental in Brewster or Pateros.  If you hear of anything, give me a call.

A Little Nippy!

The air was a little chilly this morning....fall is in the air.  Busy weekend for us as usual.  Brandi and Nevelyn came over Saturday to do salsa, Sunday was church and pitching practice for Kat (we snagged Mikey to catch for her because big brother was gone).  Monday Dad came out to go over plans with Jord and I got to visit with Mom, which is always nice.  They were pulling out and Dustin/Chelsea pulled in the drive with all their hoodlums.  Kya arrived in Seattle on Saturday, so Dustin brought her by to see us.  Chelsea's kids (3) are really good kids, very respectful.....I was impressed.  It was so good to see Kya, its been over two years and she has grown up so much.  It looks like Dustin will have her through the school year.  Kya was very excited to start her new school and seemed just fine with being with her Dad.  She definately has to have thick skin to travel by herself at the age of  7.  She will  be the most self-sufficient little girl around.  My weeks is packed full....Tuesday volleyball in B-port, Wednesday church, Thursday volleyball in Pateros, Friday football (Jord and I do the gates for free passes and I will have to organize the concession for Pateros Pride).  Saturday is Cross Country in Tonasket.  Sunday church and the week will start over again.....just breathe......breathe..... I was sitting on the coach visiting with Mom and someone texted me asking me where a good mall was in Oklahoma.  I chuckled.....it was Rylan....I told him I didn't know how to tell him where a good mall was in Tulsa, but if he wanted to go to OKC, I could tell him all the good places to shop, or he could wait for me to come in October and I would take him shopping!
