Great Weekend

Saturday the kids and I picked up Brandi and Nevelyn and headed to Lake Chelan.  I really needed a day at the Lake.....rough week at work.  Training a new Deputy Clerk and I forget how much Tiffany actually did for me on a daily basis.  We had a blast at the Lake......wish I could've returned on Sunday, but figured I needed to stay home.  Brandi/Nevelyn came out last night around 7:00 to watch the Olympics.  Nevelyn arrived waving her American Flag.  I wish I would've got a picture....it was too cute.  Jord worked for the city at home detailing a power point presentation he has to present in Olympia on Wednesday for a RCO grant for the city.  Lots of hours put into this project, it would be amazing if we actually got it. 

Home Sweet Home

Nothing like crawling into your own bed for a good night sleep.  Really enjoyed the wedding and our hotel was the bomb! Spent Sunday night with Jim/Terri.  Kristen came over and helped with dinner and Terri went to get Dustin to have dinner with us and spend the night.  We celebrated his birthday which was really great....thanks to Terri for remembering.  It was a great night.  Dustin looks good and happy.  Jim/Terri's new house is beautiful.  Jord drafted up a landscape design for their backyard and Terri was tickled pink.  They are going to try and do most of it themselves with the help of Jord.  Jim was trying to bribe Creston into staying for a week so he could work on Uncle Jim's yard.  Jim told Creston "you have worked for Grandpa in the summer the last three years, so you probably know how to do all of this!" Creston laughed.  I know I've been off for the last 4 days, but I really feel like I need 4 days at the Lake to relax.

Crazy Schedule

Originally, a large group of us were going to do the morning breakfast at APJ to raise money for Pateros Pride but we managed to find enough volunteers to keep it going.  So, yesterday I left work early and Kim and I made a dash to Wenatchee to purchase all the food.  2 large ice chests and my Honda filled to the brim.....we stop in Chelan to dump off the food to Connie Miller.  I was impressed that we made the whole trip in 4 1/2 hours.  Actually got home in time to fix fajitas for the family.  My kids are exhausted and hoping they get their paychecks before we leave tomorrow.  They will barely get harvest done before we head out at noon.  They will probably sleep most of the way. They have been putting in long hours....getting up at 4 am and home at 3 pm.  Last night, it was 7 pm and Jord asked where the kids were....I said "in bed".  The only thing that keeps Kat getting up in the morning is the anticipation of going shopping and spending her money!  Looking forward to seeing everyone.  Drive safe and enjoy the 10 hours in the car.....bonding time!

Laketime

I have lots of pictures I would love to post, but our home computer is getting worked on.  I will try and download some tomorrow at work.  We had a great day at the lake Saturday.  Although, us Aunts were not very good about making sure the hoodlums reapplied the sunscreen regularly.  Lots of red faces, arms and legs.  It was wonderful to be on my floating relaxing.  We got creative when it come to bbqing the hotdogs.  Pet had brought the portable bbq, but we didn't have a table, so Creston found us a flat rock to sit it on.  All was good.....until we thought about how we would turn the hotdogs....yep....no utensils.  So, Kat went and found us a stick.  Pretty funny, but it worked.  Nevelyn was adorable ....busy little lady.  Greg and JaLea invited everyone to their house for a bbg after church and although it was hot, it turned out really well.  Jord actually went! Whoo Hoo!

5th of July

Pretty happy today.  I listened to the weather report and its supposed to be high 90's this weekend, so if I am feeling good, I will be at Lake Chelan for the first time this summer!  Where is Brandi?????  Really enjoyed having Sis. Deanna over for dinner last night.  I cooked way to much food, I don't know what I was thinking....I could've fed at least another 6 people.....should've called Gid to come eat, but didn't think about it until later.  Jord is getting fresh broccoli, savoy cabbage, purple onions, garlic, leeks, rutabagas and fresh dill out of the garden, so I have been making different salads this week.  Really good stuff.  I will need to post the recipe I made up for Asian Coleslaw......tasty! It went great with the rack of ribs. Creston and Kat have been getting up at 4 in the morning to work in cherry harvest at the Millers.  It will be nice for them to have money to spend on our "Idaho vacation". The only bad part is.....I get up at 4 with the kids, then Jord get up at 4:45......makes a long day for this old lady!
