Harvest Party 2011

As you can see, Nevelyn gets the most pics.....I'm still going through the pic's and will add more later. This shows Brandi when she gets excited....everyone loves "bags"....

Hawaiian Harvest Party

O.K. The old fat lady was to tired to post pics of the party last night, so hopefully I will get them posted tonight. I think it was a big hit....everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we all ate until we couldn't eat anymore. Lots of laughter around the firepit remembering past times of when my parents used to chaperone the youngkids. Its funny listening to other peoples stories about my parents. Anyway, I'm very tired this morning, but I must say....we have a great group of youngkids....very respectful and willing to help clean up the mess. Did I mention that we have 22 youngkids that live here. Pretty good for a smaller body of brethern. Pics to come......

Excited!!!

Just got a call from Alan and Lenora and they will be coming for Thanksgiving! So excited....it will be nice to have them. So far, it looks like I will have a housefull, I have Richard and Dustin also coming....haven't heard yet from Jim/Terri. It sounds like Alan/Lenora will be here through the weekend, so that means I need to go to the dollar store and get some toys for Kaylee. Jord and I have to be the gate keepers tonight for the football game. It's the last one and most likely the coldest, but we get 2 free basketball passes out of the deal, so I'm not going to complain. I also heard that we will have 2 Lexington youngkids at our Harvest Party....Whoo Hoo!!! Can't wait....I may feel different after everyone is gone and I'm bushwacked!

I think this is mostly for Audrey:
My used (Stuff I look for when I go to ST. Vincent's) wishlist

Cookbooks - old, new, interesting, bread, deserts, pickling
Garden books - A little trickier to find, but you'll recognize it if you see it
Amber glassware - vases, tea picture, and other unique pieces
I do love chickens in the kitchen - glassware

Cooking utensils - baking, measuring, unique, egg timer, cobbler/pie dishes, ramekins

Is this any help?

Amazon.com Update:
This is actually easy, just go to amazon.com and type in jord wilson. The first two list are mine. Wah-lah

City Mall

So excited for the completion of our city mall. We will have a splash pad for hot summer days!!!! Here are a few pic's of the crew working and Jord took some pic's of the beautiful fall color in Memorial Park.

Crazy Day- Homecoming Week

Brought back alot of memories of highschool days gone and past....so much fun. Had to haul these crazy kids to school today!

Reese at 6 months

Really is bitter sweet.....love these pictures but wish so much I could kiss this little cheeks. Such a cutie!

Haystacks and Pumpkins

I put on a pot of beans Sunday morning so we could have haystacks after church. Chancy came home with us and we put all the kids to work on decorating the porch and getting it ready for the Harvest Party next Sunday. All the pumkins/squash are from the garden. Emily and AJ came by for a visit before heading out of town.....a very nice surprise! They want some of Jord's geese come spring time. We loaded them up with tomatoes, peppers, onions and squash to take home....they were so thrilled. They looked good and seem happy- hard to believe I used to rock him to sleep.

Saturday Morning Practice

It felt good to be out in the brisk fresh air this morning. Kat took one month off of pitching and this morning was her first practice. It was so pretty out and I know I'm crazy.....but I love watching her practice...cold or not. I learned along time ago to bring blankets. Creston is hunting with Gideon, Kat and Jord are working outside trying to make the place presentable for the Harvest Party next weekend. I am blogging! No....I really am doing laundry and picking up the house. A girl has to have a break occasionally!

Our Girls are Awesome!!!

Once again I forgot the camera. Kat and Rhi both played amazing last night and they beat Brewster!!!!! Whoo Hoo! So happy for them, they worked hard and it paid off, so exciting to watch. The varsity lost in overtime but our JV girls didn't even let them win one game. Jord informed me this morning that he was out of clean jeans....I haven't been home all week. This was my week....Monday- City meeting home at 8:00 pm, Tuesday- Vball at Lbell home at 9:00, Wed- Church home at 10:00, Thurs- Vball home at 9:00......then I asked him if he had been home this week??? The response was a serious growl and grumble. Guess what I get to do this weekend....laundry!

Fat and Fiesty

Well, I couldn't use the light and fluffy.....that just wouldn't work. Jord stayed home sick today, has the headache stuff that I had on Sunday and Monday. Last night I ventured up to Libety Bell by myself to watch Kat and Rhi play. I forget how far it is up there and I hate driving that road this time of year at night. Rhi hopped in for the ride home, it was nice having the girls to keep me company. Both girls seem sooooo ready for basketball, I think they have had their fill of the awesome JV volleyball coach! I actually heard her say something to the girls last night.....I think it was the first time she had said a word of encouragement or correction all season. This weekend is filled with cleaning up outside getting ready for our Harvest Party...I told the kids to make no plans for the weekend that they are MINE! I don't demand that very often, but sometimes you have to or you will never see them. Don't know about anyone else, but we had frost on our cars yesterday morning....winter is coming and so is the expense of studded tires and a brake change.

Color Everywhere

Been battling a headache since yesterday afternoon....not fun. I thought going outside and taking pictures of the city mall would help. The trees are bright red and yellow and so pretty. I couldn't resist taking pic's. Makes me wish my yard was planted and I could enjoy fall color outside my window. I about had a stroke when I realized that October was almost over and November was just about here and then December!!!! Not ready for winter. Jord and Kat dug all the potatoes in the garden and put them in the cellar. He thinks I should have potatoes and carrots for most of the winter, which is pretty exciting. I told him he did good with the garden this year, I figured I saved about 50-60 dollars a month for 5 months on food...not bad. It was great to see Em/Chad and the boys. Creston was totally exhausted when he got home last night. He didn't even take a shower just went straight to bed. He thought he walked about 25 miles this weekend......he wasn't impressed with the snakes....said his legs turned to jelly. Not fun.

Blue Skies.....

Such a beautiful morning.....blue skies...no rain. Jord/Creston have been busy building a new goose barn. He is like a kid in a candy store...so happy...I don't quite understand all the excitement, but if it makes him smile...then it must be great! We started a new family chore list last week. It seems to be working out pretty well except when I don't get home until 9:00 at night and I really don't want to do my chore. Jord picked acorn squash and I fixed it up for dinner with baked chicken (rubbed with a Hawaiian spice Kat brought-Pineapple Herb Rub)very tasty!!! We are still getting lots of tomatoes from the garden....Jord said we will have carrots and potatoes for quite a while, so that makes me happy.....lower grocery bill. I haven't had to buy hardly any vegys for several months-just lettuce-everything else has been in the garden. Going to Manson tonight to watch Kat and Rhi for volleyball...Jord and Creston are staying home to work on the barn. I really want to be curled up with a good book and maybe a hot cup of homemade soup.....Fall is here!

Monday---Rain!!!!

The BBQ pulled pork turned out fantastic and was so easy. I will put the recipe on the recipe blog. All I did this weekend was cook, cook and more cooking, but I really enjoy having my family close enough to pop in for a weekend. Good news is...Jim brought an offer for Terri to sign for the house in Walla Walla. It would be so good if they could sell before winter sets in. They are so excited about the new change in their lives and being closer to family. Aunt Lahna showed up for a nice visit yesterday afternoon and then off to the Frugal Secret Sisters pow wow we went. I wasn't going to join this year, but after sitting next to Sis Marcy.....I realized that I would be missing out if I didn't. I looked at Sis Margaret and thought....she probably doesn't get much company and probably really enjoys this little bit of interaction with the sisters. So, I signed myself up and was excited about the name I drew. Creston and Lance decided they would go camping in the Evan's pasture (which is nothing but weeds and dirt). We had to laugh because they pulled our extra mattress over and put it in the tent (definately not roughing it!)....then they had Kat running hot cookies over to them at 9:30 at night...oh and gatorade and chips. They spent both nights this weekend in the pasture. They dug themselves a fire pit and had lawn chairs. I'm surprised the horses didn't plow them over in the middle of the night! Well....its raining again today....gray and ugly outside....but I'm sure we need the rain so I won't complain to much!

Oh Yeah its Friday!

So glad to have Kat home....tan and bearing gifts. Our house seemed back to normal last night. We have a busy weekend ahead of us. Jim is coming tonight and Terri and Kristen are coming tomorrow. They are making the trip to pick up Jim's salsa and to have taco's. Terri started her new job at Spokane Com. College and Jim got transferred to Liberty Lake Home Depot and will start the end of October. They haven't sold their house yet in Walla Walla, but are making the move to Spokane anyway. It will be nice to have them 2 hours closer. I canned Pickled Jalapeno's last night. Jord picked the last two buckets of peppers and I hate for them to go to waste. So, I pickled one bucket full and sent the other bucket to the Cascade Mech. guys. Got up this morning and put a pork butt in the oven on low for Pulled Pork BBQ sandwiches for dinner. Kat brought me 3 different kinds of rub from Hawaii, so I rubbed it up really well and popped it into the oven. I hope it works, I've never cooked pork on a low temp for hours. We will see. Creston is gearing up for hunting season. He is so excited! I hope he brings us home a deer this year- sure would help out for winter. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Oh What a Glad Day.....

What a great day!!! Dakota's baptizing really seemed to lift a few weary souls yesterday. It was so comforting sitting in meeting and then the ordinance supper. I actually sang a little last night....bass...but hey...I sang. Really enjoyed the dinner company, I was worried that my food would be unedible after cooking for so long....I think we actually sat down to eat around 3:15 or so. But, I had made an emergency call phone to Jord at 2:00 and said "turn everything down!" Church was still going on and we had the baptizing to go to....it all worked out. Dinner was edible, company was good...we all needed a nap after dinner before heading to the ordinance supper. I am ready for Kat to be home....kind of missing her today. Jord picked the last of his cantelope and I hauled a huge box full to church for everyone. It was pretty tasty stuff and we enjoyed it. It feels like Oregon outside today....rain....
