I went in for a second interview today for the City of Pateros Public Works and Parks position. Dale called me this afternoon, and I got the job. I start in a week and a half.

Up and At It
Good Morning bloggers. Not much to report this sunny day in Pateros. Got up the usual time and woke Creston/Kat up to go to town for pitching practice. Creston is a good brother to get out of bed on his day off to catch for his sister. I don't think she realizes the bonus of having him around. Church was quiet last night.....Jord thought I left church early because we got home before 9:00. Did anyone notice there were more young kids in meeting than adults? I know thats a good sign.....we were even missing Ry, Rhi and Thomas. I grabbed Manthy last night to try and convince her and her possie to join us at the lake Saturday.......also talked with Brandi and Nevelyn. Of course, Nevelyn told me she definately wanted to spend the day with her aunt at the lake!!!! Creston said last night that he was missing Aunt Cynthia and the girls and wished they would come up for a lake weekend....I told him, I didn't know if that would happen because of the family reunion. Times are tough, money is tight, we will be lucky if we make it to the reunion. Sometimes I wish money was as plentiful as Jord's garden, then we could spread it around a little!!!

Monday, Monday......
Feeling more myself this morning. I've had a few rough days not feeling well. I felt better Saturday morning so I thought it would be fine to go to the Lake....if nothing else to sit and enjoy the weather. I didn't go swimming but just relaxed with Brandi, Creston, Kat and Nevelyn. What a sweetie!!! Nevelyn did great at the Lake, lots of grins, drools and an occassional frown, but it was so much fun to spend time with her. Got home Saturday evening and started feeling bad, not a good morning Sunday, but better by about 4:00. Jord picked fresh green beans and baby red potatoes yesterday and I sauteed them with a little butter/garlic......so good. He shelled green peas most of Saturday and we borrowed Kim's vaccum pack to put them up for the winter. I'm thinking we will need to purchase one of those, sure is a handy thing. We would love to make a trip to Oregon, but will probably have to wait until September. I'm ready for the nieces/nephews to come up and enjoy the lake.

It's Friday
Spent most of the day and evening yesterday on the couch with my feet up......feeling more myself today. Petra came over last night for dinner and to work on the design for the family reunion shirts. And I must say that my husband and Petra are pretty great....with a little help from Kat and Creston I think we have a winner! It was a fun evening.....we told Pet she needs to come more often. I made some yummy ensalada with cabbage/carrots from Jord's garden. We are really loving the fresh vegys!! Hope everyone has a great weekend.....I get to go to the Lake...Yippee.

Wednesday
Our internet has been down at the house. The guy is supposed to be there today at 3:00 to fix the problem. Jord is not a happy camper if the internet is out. Not feeling the best today, want to be home in bed with the covers over my head. Kodiak is adjusting to his new home pretty well. Bandit seems to enjoy having a companion.....now we just need to get Kodiak out of his shy stage where he knows his name. He loves to talk to you and tell you all about it, but still hard for him to come up and get attention. Sis Betty came by last night to reap some of Jord's garden....oh and Aunt Roni did too. The kids are helping take care of the Evan's place while they are away. I gladly volunteered to do all of it except milking the 4goats that have to be milked every morning. Not for me!!! I think the kids and I will make a stop at Lake Chelan this Saturday.....I'm in need of water.

Finally Home
Well, we are finally done with softball until next year. This last weekend was a lot of fun. We got to spend time with my family which is a treat for me. Bro Dave/Sis Pam, Dennis/Debbie also met us at the ball park and spent the entire day with us. We really enjoyed them. Had a great picnic and visit. It makes you appreciate our home brethern. The Spokane brethern get so excited when someone comes to town, its almost like they are starving for company/visits. We had a retirement party for my sister Terri and we got to see all Terri's family. Terri's mom, Nona was one of my Dad's bestfriends in Prosser. They worked together for 20 years for the Prosser Schools. Terri's little sister was my closest friend in Prosser so our family's were entwined even before Jim/Terri got married. Nona came for our wedding and was here for Galen's funeral....she is a special person and it was great to see her. We had a late breakfast with Jim/Terri/Kristen and Cory on Sunday and then went to see the property that Jim/Terri want to build a new house on. They were joking about "Taco Tuesdays".....get off work at 2....be at K's house by 5.....eat and drive back to Spokane and be home by 9.....great Taco Tuesday!!! It will definately be great to have them 2 hours closer. I heard the town was packed this weekend and the Jet Ski Races went off well....we had over 100 people go thru the Museum. I am now ready for the Lake and trying to figure out which days I'm taking off to enjoy the sunshine!!!!

Kodiak

So.....I've been looking for over a year for another Great Pyrenees because Bandit is getting old and he needs to help train the next dog. I couldn't find one cheaper than $600.00 and there was no way we could afford to spend that on a dog. Mom called me on Monday and told me about an ad she seen- Great Pyrenees for $200.00 in Ellensburg. I called the lady yesterday and she was having problems selling her last 3 males which are now 6 months old. She ended up selling us a dog for $100! Jord/Creston picked him up on the way back from picking up plants. By the time they got him home......he had a new name. Kodiak. Kat is supposed to take pictures of him today. He looks a little thinner than we would like, we think he got pushed out of the feedbowl. But he has a healthy appetite this morning and was playing with Bandit, so I believe all is good in his little world. His bark is a deep, authoritive bark.....Love it!!!

Long Weekend

Left Thursday and made the long trip to Vancouver WA for the 16U ASA State Fastpitch Tournament. Lots of fun, lots of sunshine and very glad to get home to my own bed. The girls ended up taking 4th in State, which is great considering the girls come from all over NCW and don't practice together. We have girls from as far as Chewelah, Cheney, Wenatchee and Wilbur. Jord's garden grew leaps and bounds while we were away. Creston did an awesome job watering for his Dad......wish he could've been with us, but he is determined to make a little money this summer. He is supposed to start full boar in cherries for Carol Miller this week. He did work a little this weekend for her, but the cherries are not quite ready. Hope everyone had a great weekend....it sounds like Gideon took Petra on a little nature walk!

Nice Weekend
So nice to have the weekend at home. The kids and I enjoyed Lake Chelan all day Saturday. The water is still a little cold, but it should warm up if the weather stays hot. Sunday meeting was excellent. Jord thought we would be home early because we had a lot gone, but no.....church lasted until 2:00ish. Monday, Richard came down to spend the day and Marty/Kim came over to BBQ. Beef/Chicken Kabob's, corn on the cob, red taters (out of the garden) and broccoli (out of the garden). It was yummy. Oh!!! I forgot, I made Cherry Pies and Lemon Pies. Enjoyed the day. Jord's garden is out of control.....we will have cabbage coming out our ears in a couple days. They are nice, beautiful heads and he is very proud of his garden. The scarecrow is losing weight....what's up with that???? Hope everyone had a great 4th, we sure did.
