Monday Again

The weekend went by so fast that I feel like it should still be Sunday. I even had a three day weekend, but it was packed full. Friday-woke up and cleaned the house top to bottom for Jim/Terri's visit. Cooked Dinner and went to see the games with Richard/Jim/Terri and Jord. Great night except we lost, but enjoyed being with my family. Saturday-Cooked a big breakfast, visited with company and relaxed the afternoon. Sunday-what a great meeting. I really enjoyed the preaching, singing and testimonies. It looks like a full week ahead with church and ball games. Haven't decided how we are going to do that???? Jord is not feeling well since Saturday....bad cold....stay away from me.

Grey Days of Winter

Boys Against Girls

Saturday night was a fun night. We had Gideon/Brandi over for Taco's and Pinnocle. Of course, its always boys against girls and 90% of the time the girls win....which Brandi and I love to remind them......but Saturday the cards where against us and the boys won. And if you remember playing with either Jord or Gideon, they REALLY enjoy winning. Fun times! We had another great meeting Sunday.....we've been having quite a few of those lately. Its so nice and comforting. I am so looking forward to winter being over.....I am ready to go shopping or maybe out to dinner???? We are planning a weekend at the ocean, but don't know when...maybe March? We will see. I just hope that if we get to go, we will be able to walk the beach. I enjoyed the Family Reunion, but missed being able to walk on the beach. I would be content to just a Eugene trip to see everyone. Its time to start looking for Kat's 8th grade promotion dress......Any ideas?

A Good Night

Went home and made homemade pizza for dinner last night. Kat was in the kitchen helping....she actually voluteered!!! I don't get that very often. Anyway, the pizza was yummy. I had a great conversation with Cynthia and then later with my brother Jim. They are coming up to watch all the boys play against Brewster on the 28th. So, he was putting his order in for Taco's and a bed for the night. I love that I get family dropping in for a visit......its one of the best things about moving back. No pitching practice for Kat last night....apparantly her and Rylan collided in P.E. and she has a nasty bruise on her shin. I told her she needed to tone it down a little....stop being so competitive. Who wants to guard Rylan, he's like an animal on the court!!! (love watching him) Last week she went up for a rebound against Gar of all people and he lost his balance and landed on top of her! Act like a lady, I said. Not for Kat.....she enjoys her time playing against the guys. "It just makes me a better player." is her comment. Creston is rolling his eyes!!!! That is a typical night at the Wilson's. Everyone have a great weekend....we will be at the basketball court with all our snacks.

Early Practice

Yuck!!! I get up early anyway but 5:00 is just to early!!! The kids have practice at 6 o'clock for two mornings, so that means everyone up at 5. The only good thing about early practice is we actually get the kids home right after school and can have a decent family evening at home. We don't get those very often and I like having my kids around so they can harass me. Very good weekend with an excellent meeting on Sunday. It was nice to have yesterday off, I managed to get all my laundry done....WhooHoo. I had a nice visit with my little brother Abe, sure miss him, but he sounds good! Jord chewed me out about posting we were trying to eat better and exercise.....he said "they say you are not supposed to let people know when you are cutting calories." Whatever.....is what I said. If you want to lose weight you need all the help you can get. Not an easy task, especially when you like to eat!!!! Creston was eating a Snickers at the game Friday night and I didn't notice I was starring at his candy bar until he said...."Mom if you want a bite, all you have to do is ask!" Ha Ha.....Hope everyone has a great week.

Dinner

Creston has been begging for Lasagne. It's like the most fattening thing around. So, I thought to myself....."Kerri there has to be a way to make this a little healthier". This is what I did and it turned out yummy....Jord said it was some of the best I've made (his opinion could be slightly altered due to lack of fat intake)..anyway....I used half the meat as usual, 1/2 the amount of cheese and I only used white cheeses which are lower in fat. It was good!!! Of course, we still had to eat alot more salad and a smaller portion of lasagne....but it was a good dinner and Creston was a happy camper. We had the lady from the bank bring us "Hello Dolly's" from the bakery yesterday. This is my absolute favorite dessert from the bakery....chocolate, coconut, grahmn cracker crust....well I gave mine to the crew, I didn't eat it!!! Whoo Hoo!!! I think the lack of sugar is making me a little crazy, but I really want to eat better and it is such a difficult task when you LOVE to eat.

Hello

Went home after the funeral last night with a whopper of a headache....didn't make it to church. Kat had a headache too, but I think it was her emotional state. Glad its all behind us and we can move on to hopefully a happier year. I do know that it brought my kids closer together. Kat leaned on her brother which is how its supposed to be. They've always been close, but with Chancy in the picture, Kat has taken a back seat and it makes her a little grumpy at times. Jord called me today and asked when we could go get groceries....Ha Ha....apparantly the cupboards are a little bare. Saturday morning I said....he tells me he wants to go with me???? I think he wants to make sure I buy enough stuff for him to eat during the week. We've both been trying to eat healthier...nothing to drastic...just cutting out the fat/sugar by about 95%. I feel better, don't know if I've lost any weight....I think you need to excercise, but can't get motivated to walk on my lunch break when there is snow on the ground. Jord's been walking 2 1/2 miles a day around the Cassimer Bar by our house. Bandit loves it, and Jord has been good about keeping his schedule. Went to Phyllis's this morning, she seemed to be having a pretty good day. Pitching practice tonight in our barn, basketball Friday and Saturday night.....hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good Weekend

Busy, but very good weekend! Friday and Saturday night we carpooled with the Evan's to the games which is always fun. Lots of visiting and laughter. Sunday, we had a great meeting, I enjoyed it so much. About 7:00, we get a phone call...."are you guys going to be home?" It was Conn and Nancy coming for a visit. What a wonderful surprise!!! Lance came over and the kids played games. The adults visited and had a great time. Jord and I really enjoyed them.....of course there was more laughter! But, they way I see it....Laughter is good for the soul.....Very good weekend.

Dealing with Life.

Very long week for everyone here in Pateros. It makes me so thankful for the faith and that we have God to help guide us through life. So many questions, and no answers, but as we all know....life continues to go on. As I sat in church Wednesday night and looked at our youngkids, I felt so blessed to be living in a place with a strong foundation for our kids. So thankful.....

Another Year Gone

It's hard to believe we are actually in 2011!!! Very full weekend. New Years Eve at Mom/Dad's which was a lot of fun. Brandi and I beat Gideon and Jord in Pinocle (this always makes us girls happy). New Years Day we spent at Mom/Dad's....what a great meal....lots of yummy food and great company. Then home to cook homemade chili....the Salcido's and Aunt Lahna came over to watch OU win against Connecticut. Sunday we had a great meeting. It was a nice way to start the New Year. Last night we took down Christmas. What a job!! Not as fun as putting it up thats for sure! Our house looks so bland.....no color....and I don't like it! Basketball games this week and cold weather....what a combination.
