Quiet on the Homefront

Very nice to have my husband back home with no airplane adventures this time around. Things are pretty quiet here with us...just the same old schedule. I've been priming myself for Fall Softball, I'm not sure I'm quite ready to tackle that part of my life so soon after the last season. Creston went out and measurement 40 feet between pitching/catching and built his little sister a pitching mound for practice at home. Very sweet of him----this way I won't have to go to the ballfield as much as before. He is going after her with that Wilson stare and taking on the wrath of Kat when she doesn't like being told how to correct her pitch! He spends about 1 hour a day with her catching and coaching. He's been going with us to pitching lessons and now he believes himself to be the expert! I have to hand it to Creston....he's much more patient than I would be. It's been over 100 degrees for days now and I am ready for it to end. I took the kids to the school and got their physicals done for school sports. It only costs $5.00/per kid which is a steal. They did start something new this year, Creston had to pay an extra $25.00 for a drug test. They start testing athelics for drugs at 8th grade level.....he wasn't impressed with the process if you know what I mean!! I tried to tell him to drink lots of water before we went, but Mom doesn't know anything. Our garden was a flop this year. Another strange weather season. We did have lots of summer squash, a little fresh okra, and lots of peppers, but no melons, cuc's or tomatoes. I will have to go to the Farmers Market to get tomatoes for salsa. We miss everyone, I should say....I miss everyone....Jord got to see alot of you last week.

Weekend with Friends

It's sad that Bro. John is gone but we were so refreshed by the visits with the family. They called meeting on Friday night, Saturday night and regular meeting on Sunday. It's a 40 minute drive from my house to the Shields church, but it sure was worth it. We didn't get home until after midnight ,church lasted 4 hours every night and also 4 hours on Sunday. Marty made some exceptional talks and the meetings were so very good. Saturday, Bro. Eddie/Sis. Kara Tomlinson invited us, Ruben/Manthy and all the Evans clan over for a BBQ and swimming for the kids. There was a total of 7 boys all around Creston's age and 3 girls Kat's age and 1 girl Ari's age. They had a blast! It's been 100+ degrees for several days so this was a nice afternoon. I even got Jord out and I believe he enjoyed himself. Lots of visiting, lots of laughter and lots of fun. It was hard telling Marty/Kim/Lance good bye, they are like family to us and it was so good to have time with them. Stay cool....we are overheated here in Oklahoma.

Jord's Trip

This is for whoever decides to pick up my husband from the airport. I believe Liz is in charge, but after the conversation between her and Jord.....I don't know which one was more confused? So, here it is...He arrives at the Eugene Airport this Thursday 24th at 7:15 pm. I have orders to also call. I wonder if he thinks everyone is going to forget him?

Summertime

We have had a couple weeks of slow time, which was much needed. Sunday, I went to see Sis. Rosalee and also had the treat of seeing JaLea. We had a nice visit, everyone is doing pretty good under the circumstances. Last night, Jord and the kids went with me to go back and visit some more. Abi is such a sweety. Creston and Kat are looking forward to seeing Lance. We are hoping we can snag him for a while. Hope everyone is good.
