Creston's 13th Party

Well, I asked Jord to do another slide show so all of you could see the pic's of Creston's Party, but he was buried in work all day Sunday and only moved from his desk to go to the bathroom. We had a great turnout. We counted 31 youngkids, 15 adults and 13 little kids for a total of 59!!! Wow! Bro Johnny/Sis Dana hosted the festivities with myself bringing all the food. Jord managed to grill 70 Hamburgers/45 Sausage Dogs....I fixed a huge pot of Chili/Salads/Chips/ and Pop. The adults were so full we couldn't even wiggle. The kids were to busy playing to eat so I had tons of food left over. We had volleyball, basketball, football, pool, air hookey, croket......lots of fun stuff to do. Then before everyone headed home we had a good singing. I will have Jord post pic's sometime this week......Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Spring Has arrived

I'm still out of the reading loop, but I thought I would share a couple pictures this morning. I'll let them load while I take a shower, and then I'm off to school. I've been working in my pajamas all morning, and need to make an appearance at school. Creston has an honor-band recital this evening, so from school it is to Tecumseh.

We had baby Minorca and Prats on Easter, 10 (later re-tabulated at 13) goslings hatched yesterday. Katarina discovered them. I think she hatched every egg under her. Very unusual and a lot of babies for one Mom. This morning the Post Office called at 6am and my 25 silkie babies were waiting for me. All in the best of shape, very vigorous and happy.

So Spring is here.

Aunt Lahna's Visit

Saturday I'm cleaning house when the phone rings and this young voice on the other end says"this is Dakota and we are coming up there for Church tomorrow...o.k. Bye!" Ruben/Manthy know that when they come for church...they also come for dinner. Little did I know that Ruben/Manthy were taking a weekend to themselves and Aunt Lahna was watching the kids. Great Surprise!! I fixed Lasagna....Sorry Dad! It was great. The boys grabbed Isacc at church and he came home to play with Creston, Dakota and Zane. Around 5:30, Bro. Richard and Sis. Bonnie, Bro. Johnny and Sis. Dana showed up for a visit. It was really nice....we sang a little....ate a whole lot. We were on the computer helping Aunt Lahna look for houses, I guess she is determine to make the big move. The phone rings and Sis. Bonnie is calling wanting everyone to come out to their house to have a singing. Apparently Sis. Bonnie didn't get enough singing in at our house. So, we all loaded up and Jord ended up playing the piano and we all were singing until after 10:00 last night. Very nice.......glad to hear Josh has had some good days.

Creston

I forgot to tell everyone that Creston was nominated by Lexington School to go to a Leadership Forum in Washington D.C. His application went before a panel of judges and he was chosen!!! This Foundation was established by President Roosevelt and is being run by his family. Huge honor for Creston. We were very proud and excited parents. The downfall is....the cost to let him go. It costs around $4000.00-6000.00 dollars for one week. We told Creston that if he wanted to go....we would find a way. He decided he wants us to take a family trip to D.C. this way we would spend less and everyone could go. Sweet boy!! I think he was nervous about being in a strange city without Mom/Dad. I know I was relieved when he made the decision.

Spring is in the air.

We seem to go all different ways during the spring. Creston has Baseball, Kat has Softball, Jord and I are the same....work, school, work, run kids around. It seems never ending but it is also very rewarding. We actually had a full night to our selves for the lst time in 3 years. Creston went to spend the night with the Foote's and Kat went to spend the night with the Sevier's. So, Jord and I hopped in the car and went out to dinner. It seems strange to actually do things without the kids. We had a good meeting on Sunday....lots of people there. Great singing.....I loved it. Katarina had practice Sunday afternoon. It was 70 degrees and I got a sun burn!! We've had cold weather for the last week and I wasn't prepared for the sunshine. She got beemed hard in the thigh with a softball. She tried real hard not to cry, but the tears came....she woke up this morning with a perfect softball imprint in her thight....blue and purple. I know its the first of many bruises....she is playing 3rd base this year because she's the only one who can make the throw to 1st base. She loves it....at first she was mad about giving up shortstop....but realized that it was better for the team if she's the only one who can make the throw. Being competive runs in her blood....I wonder where she gets it!! We are thinking about coming out the lst week of June, both the kids have a week long break from sports with no games and we think that if I can get tickets cheap enough we will come if not.....we may drive. We really want to see Josh.....I know something will work out. Miss everyone....
